Prosper brings additional hashrate online to 500 PH total, following purchase of 7,000 ASIC miners
2024 / 12 / 19
Prosper, a decentralized protocol democratizing access to Bitcoin mining by tokenizing institutional-grade Bitcoin hashrate as omnichain real-world assets (RWA), today announced that another 250 petahash of Bitcoin mining power is now live, bringing its total live hashrate to 500 petahash.
The news comes shortly following last week’s announcement that Prosper had acquired over 7,000 ASIC miners from BITMAIN, the world’s leading manufacturer of digital currency mining servers, and represents a significant milestone for Prosper and its $PROS token holders.
Prosper’s foundation-owned Bitcoin miners are hosted and operated under a first-of-its-kind, long-term agreement with BITMAIN. Under the partnership, BITMAIN and its affiliates provide institutional-grade mining execution quality for the benefit of Prosper's foundation and native token holders.
This represents another key milestone in Prosper’s launch phase, which will ultimately determine the minimum hashrate-per-token ratio for $PROS holders before the protocol enters its next phase. Prosper will aim to continue ramping up the protocol's underlying hashrate, with an additional 500 PH (bringing the total to 1 EH) available to go live in the near term and access to pipeline capacity of 170 MW, which can support Prosper's mid-term goal of reaching 5 EH/s total scale.
By combining institutional-grade Bitcoin mining hashrate, a decentralized protocol design backed by strong fundamentals, and an extensive network of strategic partners, Prosper is well-positioned to solidify its status as the flagship decentralized Bitcoin mining protocol.
About Prosper
Prosper is a decentralized protocol for a community that truly believes in Bitcoin, providing full exposure across Bitcoin hashrate and Bitcoin through tokenizing institutional-grade Bitcoin hashrate as omnichain RWA, and aims to fully unlock the potential of Bitcoin through liquidity farming.
